Gant retires as Glen Raven CEO

Allen Gant Jr. has retired as CEO of textile manufacturer Glen Raven Inc., with C.G. “Leib” Oehmig IV, a 28-year veteran of Glen Raven, stepping in as his successor. Gant will remain chairman of the company’s operating board. Gant joined Glen Raven in 1971 and was named CEO in 1996.

Boat-building forecasts indicate growth

Boat-building production forecasts were upwardly revised in the third quarter of 2016 to reflect accelerating growth, according to ITR Economics. The ITR forecast puts third quarter growth up 12 percent and annual growth up 10.9 percent. Forecasts indicate growth to continue through June 2019, decelerating toward the end of 2018.
